Ashdod Energy is another advanced project of Edeltech Group which turns the private electricity vision and the personal adaptation of electricity to the consumer into reality.
The advanced power plant is being constructed adjacently to Adama Agan plants at the northern industrial area of the City of Ashdod, with an investment of about $100 million had launched its commercial operation on December 2015.
The power plant operates on the basis of natural gas and for that purpose, the Company signed a natural gas supply agreement with the Tamar Partnership. The plant supplies electricity and steam to the Adama Agan plant, and through the national electricity grid, it supplies electricity to various other electricity consumers. Electricity surpluses are being sold to the IEC.
The power plant operates with a combined cycle allowing for high efficiency electricity and steam production, producing about 55 MW and up to 40 tons of steam per hour (gas turbine, steam generators and steam turbine).
During the process, steam is being siphoned-off for the production processes at Adama Agan and for other consumers who are in contract with the Company. A support backup boiler was built to secure continuous steam supply also when the power plant is inoperative.
